Class Change Confusion

Friday January 11th, 2013

Well I can honestly say I can’t remember a single outstanding thing about this Friday. I only took one picture and it was this:

My lunch. Whoop. Delicious, but…whoop.

Wait, I take back what I said earlier. My host parents did have a little talk to me. Remember how I was moved from Class B to Class C at University? Welllllllll apparently my Rotary club called my host parents to confront my poor Chinese skills because I moved from Class A to Class C. Do these scenarios match up? …The answer is no. They got my classes mixed up and now think I have done badly in Chinese class from moving down two classes. First of all this is not true and second of all I don’t even understand why I got moved down. My final exam grade was excellent, did all the assigned homework, good attitude in class and daily grades since the beginning have been good. Now I have to correct every Rotarians outlook on me when I see them. Joy.

The mix up was at least explained to my host parents so they could understand what truly happened. Nonetheless they still kindly offered to help me in any possible way with Chinese or culture if I have any questions. It’s so sweet of them. I may have to take them up on that offer specifically on relearning the Chinese system “Ba Pa Ma Fa.” I mentioned that system a loooooong time ago but that’s how kids in Asia learn Mandarin. Personally I learnt by Pinyin Romanization and that’s what my first semester Class B Chinese teacher taught with therefore I didn’t ever use it and soon forgot it completely. This Class C teacher teachers with the other system and hence I need to learn how to properly use it because I’m not getting the full educational extent that I could with it.

So yeah, there’s my Friday. Bring on the weekend, baby! :D
